Thrive recognised as game changer for offshore wind industry
Thrive, Active Training Team’s safety leadership program based on the Humber, won the Renewables UK Global Offshore Game Changer Award last night (26th October 2023).
Since its launch in September 2020, Thrive’s revolutionary approach has significantly enhanced safety in the Offshore Wind industry, with 93% of over 4,200 participants who’ve attended so far stating that, when it comes to safety, they see themselves as a leader.
After collecting the award at the ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, ATT director Adam Christopher commented:
‘Massive thanks to our partners at Ørsted for sharing our vision to create Thrive and giving us their unwavering support in this inspiring venture to keep people working in the offshore wind industry and beyond, healthy, happy and safe at work.’
Renewable energy leaders, Ørsted, wanted to develop a ground-breaking safety program for all personnel involved in the construction of Hornsea 2 and to create a safety legacy for the offshore wind sector.
Ørsted partnered with ATT to build a cutting-edge learning center at Immingham Docks where ATT deliver a one-day, immersive safety leadership program using multimedia, live drama and active learning to transform behaviors and attitudes to safety.
The heightened emotional and sensory experience created by Thrive’s immersive approach is proven to positively impact on learning, memory, recall and subsequent behavior; 95% of participants state that they will apply what they have learned on the program.
Thrive has a wider benefit to the local community creating around 60 jobs in the area. The center plays an active role in supporting the Humber region’s growing reputation as the UK’s center for green energy. Other organizations currently using Thrive include Siemens Gamesa, Siemens Energy, SSE, Equinor, Ocean Winds, RWE, Scottish Power Renewables and ABP.
Thrive is relevant to renewables, maritime and any organization that aims to empower its whole workforce to be safety leaders. Read more about using Thrive here.
