Thrive now available in German
Active Training Team (ATT) is now offering its award-winning safety leadership program, Thrive, in the German language.
The one-day, interactive program will feature the same hard-hitting, multi-media scenario and practical skills workshops, but delivered by German speakers at the purpose-built center in Immingham designed by ATT for its partners, Ørsted. The first cohort of around 200 German speakers from Ørsted’s Central Europe Business Unit, completed the training this week.
ATT Director, Dermot Kerrigan, commented:
‘Many of the people we work with are based in Germany and Scandinavia and although the majority of them do speak English, our programs are essentially about how we communicate better. Making Thrive available to employees in their mother tongue is a critical part of our ethos that everyone across an organization has the same experience and takes home the same messages.
‘We’re looking forward to welcoming our first German-speaking Ørsted cohort to the Humber as well as German-speaking employees from other organizations in the rest of Europe who want to empower their workforce to be safety leaders.’

In this kind of training language plays an important role in experiencing the setting as immersive, as it is intended. We appreciate that this will now also be available in the native language of many of our colleagues in Germany.’
The £1.4 million Thrive Safety Leadership Center was originally conceived to induct all Ørsted personnel and contractors working on the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm project. The training program is designed according to sound neuroscientific, psychological and learning theory principles.
Participants witness the build-up to a fatal incident set in a wind power environment with industry-leading audio-visual technology delivering a powerful immersive experience. These are followed by a series of interactive skills workshops. The multi-sensory approach, emotional engagement and active participation make the experience believable, memorable and meaningful.
Thrive is particularly relevant for renewables, maritime and a range of other sectors, but is available to all organizations.
