Ørsted, ATT immersive training hub proves a hit
668 participants have completed the day-long course at Thrive which opened its doors in September 2020
The Thrive Safety Leadership Centre, developed in partnership by Orsted and Active Training Team, has already seen 668 participants complete the day-long course.
Orsted committed £1.4m in funding to create the purpose-built facility in partnership with ATT, located in Immingham, and is now inducting all personnel working on the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm project through Thrive, which opened in September 2020.
Orsted is “delighted” that the facility is available to other companies and industries across the Humber to use on non-Hornsea Two induction days.
Hornsea 2 QHSE head Lutuf Shah said: “We invested in setting up the Thrive Safety Leadership Centre because we are committed to empowering our colleagues in doing the right thing when it comes to safety.
“The programme raises awareness about the behaviour and culture of safety in the workplace and it teaches our teams valuable techniques which they can implement into their daily routines at work.
“The programme is recommended to each new starter on our project and we’ve received fantastic feedback from people who have completed the session.
“Our decision to set up the site in Immingham has proved to be a real success and we hope that many other industries will consider getting in touch with ATT to book the training.
“This unique programme is already having a positive impact on the health and culture of the Humber region.”
Thrive features a “hard-hitting, multi-media scenario” which examines the build-up to a fatal incident on a load-out operation and its consequences.
The high-quality production values and industry-leading technology means the programme delivers a powerful immersive experience to participants.
As an additional benefit Thrive has brought over 60 new jobs and contracts to the area.
