Right From The Start

An award-winning interactive program for senior leaders and managers that tackles the critical links between safety, quality, leadership and accountability.

Using a powerful blend of film, live action, facilitated discussion and practical workshops, this highly engaging program creates a participative experience that brings learning to life. Set inside a fictional multinational corporation, the narrative explores the pressures of delay, client expectations and tough decisions.

When something has to give—will it be safety or quality, or both? Who decides? Who pays the price?

About the program

Right From the Start challenges participants to think differently about their roles in creating a culture of safety and quality. It explores:

  • The connection between upstream decision-making and downstream outcomes
  • The behaviors and communication skills that drive effective leadership
  • The personal and organizational responsibility to “walk the talk” on both safety and quality

Program structure

The program comprises three parts:

Interactive, Awareness-Raising Story

A dynamic, multimedia session designed to provoke reflection and conversation, bringing the subject to life for participants and providing a common starting point for the work that follows.

Practical Safety Leadership (PSL) – Module 1

The first PSL workshop develops participants awareness of the Attitudes and Behaviours that contribute towards an improved leadership culture.

Practical Safety Leadership (PSL) – Module 2

The second workshop focuses on optimizing the leadership mindset and especially how managers can maximize their impact by influencing others.

Both workshops engage participants through interactive exercises and simulations to deepen their learning and apply core principles that they can apply in their own workplace context.
